]]> There’s a great wordpress plugin called PhotoDropper, which lets you browse the flickr pool and generate HTML to insert pictures into your blog. I’ve just installed it and thought I’d try it out for today’s post, seeing as it’s Sunday and I abstain from all forms of work on the Sabbath (or should that be Saturday?). Cadever, me posting flickr pics is not work. These are some of the more amazing pictures I found and all are simply overflowing with colour.

]]> OK this is a strange one so needs a little explaining – why is it so overblown? Well, if you look at An Eerie Train Station you should be able to see something grey on the very first small window on the far left; that’s where these two guys are sitting. I had taken five shots of them – looking at the thumbnials on my computer I could see each was brighter than the last so naturally I assumed I had taken different shutter speeds and had anchored the camera on some rigid surface. Turns out now as I remember it, each shot was taken at a different ISO and I was holding the camera – hence the obvious blurryness in the image below.

I only realised this once I had opened HDR Max but I thought it was unusual and was something different so I decided to keep it. It’s completely unrealsitic for sure, something you might see after 3 straight days of LSD. Opinions are welcome icon smile The Wooden Man With His Wooden Thingy

]]> I find this image very soothing – I was walking over the rock bridge (part of it is the foreground) in Stephen’s Green, and the frame that the bridge and trees make around the lake made this shot irresistible to take. I’ve used a low aperture number, F/3.5 I think, to reduce the depth of focus as much as possible and give it a sort of fairy tale look. I hope you like it.

]]> So I was twittering away on Twitter, bored with my background – I wanted something personal. A collage of some of my images had been in my head for a time but I only managed to motivate myself today to do something about it. The best way I found to do it was by creating thumbnails of all the images I wanted to use (36 of them), open them in Photoshops photomerge option, arrange them in whatever way I saw fit, and let Photoshop do it’s magic. I didnt do much research on whether there is a better way but I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out as a first attempt. As a plan for the future, once I have 100 images that are worthy I’m going to make a huge 10×10 collage! That’s a couple of months aways still though, for the moment enjoy this one! ]]> I had planned to post some night time photography shots I took earlier today but they turned out terrible (It was my first shot at shooting in the dark), so instead I’m posting an image of an everyday object, with a difference. By fiddling with the manual settings on my camera (exposure compensation, ISO sensitivity etc) you can create some very vivid imagery. During postprocessing in Photoshop I underexposed it by 4EV and it turned out as you see below. I think it looks pretty awesome. Can you guess what it is?

  • Aperture: f/3.8
  • Shutter Speed: 1/15s
  • ISO: 3200
  • Lens: 18-200@22mm
  • Exposure Compensation +5EV
