I think this is my first ever animal picture! It was taken somewhere in Barcelona; it was by pure happenstance that I saw it sitting between two cars. Usually I wouldn’t bother trying to take a picture of an animal since they often don’t hang around long enough for you to get the shot but I was lucky with this one

- Shutter Speed: 1/400s
- Aperture: f/5 @78mm
- Lens Used: Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S VR DX

This was from one fantastic market in Barcelona off las ramblas – furits, fish, sweets of every colour – amazing!
I’ve been dabbling in the world of microstock photography of late – it definitely requires an element of contraint when choosing what to photograph! I’ve submitted to a number of sites with varying degrees of success – Shutterstock has been the most welcoming site by far. More to follow!

Wow it’s been some time since my last post – they will likely be spread out like this for the next few months unfortuantely – more pressing life matters have taken over 
I go on an unplanned trip to Barcelona for two days and all I find is wind, rain, and overcast skies! Meanwhile I was dutifully informed that Ireland was in the middle of a heatwave! Sometimes you’re the dog, other times you’re the tree.

I took this shot quickly while waiting for the traffic to chill out but then felt I should take it again since the little green man wasn’t lit the first time. This was on the first day in Barcelona, and one for the short periods when there wasn’t any rain either – it was raining in Barcelona while it was sunny in Ireland! WHAT!!!!!

While most of my time in Barcelona was surrounded by miserable weather and rain, I did quickly snap this fine piece of machinery parked along a narrow street. I’ve walked by quite a few motorcycles in my time (eh big deal?) but this is actually the first time I’ve had my camera handy when doing so. It’s a real shame that the weather was so shitty while I was there, oh well, maybe I’ll go back later on in the year…
