The cartoon effect is not something I specifically go for, but turns out to be the finished article a lot of the time :) I'm planning to post a detailed tutorial of my steps; I'm heading to Paris tomorrow though so it'll be a couple of weeks away. It makes it all look like a cartoon. I've seen things done like this with portraits of people, and thought it was the greatest thing. I always wanted to be able to do something like this.
